Oil on Masonite

While living in Delhi, India, I had the honor to work with Sewa Ashram (www.delhihouse.org), an organization that cares for the poor in Delhi, India. We would often visit a Tuberculosis Hospital to make sure everyone was being taken care of. There are no nursing assistants in these hospitals, so often if a patient has no friends or family, they will be left with no one to care for them. We found a woman named Meera in this hospital. We brought her to our rehabilitation home, but while there she died. After coming back to the States, Meera's death and India was all I could think of. I made a series of paintings recording her life from when I met her till when she died.
