Identity. Lost. Mother

This work corresponds closely with the theme of tragedy, for "Identity. Lost. Mother." deals with the confusion and grief that the loss of human life entails. The disappearance or deterioration of a loved one is one of humanity's most incomprehensible events. It is at once rational and absurd; the devastating pain that tragic loss inflicts seems incongruent with the knowledge that all living things eventually meet their fate in death. However, it is this contradiction that requires us to acknowledge the universal experience among men and women on this planet. In humble empathy towards the tragic loss of life that occurred due to the tsunami in Asia, I wish to present this work as a compassionate reminder: though myriad in form and circumstance, loss and tragedy are universals that resound with us all.
