I make books using materials that would otherwise be forgotten. In particular, I collect old books from garage sales and thrift stores, and I ask for animal parts left over from family members who hunt and trap. Collecting and repurposing these items is a process which allows me to revisit an object’s (or a creature’s) significance and create new possibilities. Meaning is often discovered through this experience of collecting and in the experimentation that takes place with various materials and processes.
