My pictures, at their best, ride the fence between representational and abstract. In the more successful of them, the representational and the abstract will trade rolls. In this case, I find myself caring very little about a specific visual narrative. I simply draw things that I recalled from my walk down Thayer Street in Providence, and let a new story grow from that. The word "things" in that last sentence probably says something about objectification, maybe even gender objectification. I do this. I am guilty. I might have titled this piece "You Thayer,You Brought Her". On walks down the Thayer Streets of the world, everyone is looking at everyone. As an over weight 52 year old man I get looked at, though more as an object to be feared and loathed. Graffiti makes it look like there is a lot being said. I like the idea that something is being said which I can't translate, but I understand the attitude. I'm guessing it's something some coed is bitching to her friend about catching me looking at her, or something from the garbled loudspeaker in my conscience.
