On November 4th, 2008 the United States of America elected its first minority President to office. These images were appropriated from the Internet the moment Barack Obama accomplished this feat. The figures were then juxtaposed on a white background out of their original context in order to show the raw emotion. Where at first glance they may seem like looks of terror and sadness, they are instead reactions of utmost happiness and relief.
