Inspired by a definition of poetry by Carl Sandburg, "The Journal of a Sea Animal Living on Land..." is an ongoing visual record of a contemporary nomadic life. The installation contains over a hundred tiny prints, made during a five -year period of extensive travel and two long distance moves. The work is equal parts fiction and autobiography; a means of arranging, reflecting upon, and retelling the events that make up my history. The images serve as monuments to seemingly mundane environments, objects and moments; the goal is to challenge viewers to consider the small daily events that form their stories and shape their identities.
