A time to reflect

I chose "A time to reflect" for the Dia de los Muertos show because I think it captures a feeling when we look inside our emotions and reflect on others or just the events of the day; how we will respond or how we choose to remember; a glimpse inside ourselves;memories that we cannot express in words. I began the process of this painting by expressing mixed emotions of past event that happened in my life; starting with first just expressive lines of first inital feeling, and then calming the painting down as I remembered how I moved forward through these emotions. It is my intent to invoke a shared feeling of reflection. The medium is acryic, gesso, plaster and glazes. My hope is to continue this series of exploring different emotional responses, and capture a shared sentiment.
