Where We All Once Slept

Incubator

sculpture: 18" x 12" lamp shade: 6"x5" • Ceramics, Panty Hose, Panty Liners, Egg Shell $NFS

Inside the ceramic pelvis, panty hose and panty liners create a soft personal nest. The eggs resting inside wear their written societal titles. (him, her, you etc.) Being kept warm by the red glass hanging lamp. Women cradle the world in their pelvis; a magnificent feat made shameful by our cultures judgment. I confront societies’ perceptions of menstruation through language. Weather visual, written or spoken, I match language with figurative sculptures. This human incubator is a documentation of my personal struggle with child bearing.
