This is one painting in a series of self portraits I am doing documenting how I am facing certain events in my childhood as a adult woman and breaking down my interior walls that have kept me from healing. This painting specifically deals with the complex feelings of motherhood, at the same time facing emotional pain and wanting to break family behavioral cycles. I've included in the painting the quote "All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." by Helen Keller. I've also included parts of cards from my baby shower and parts of a church bulletin when I was a baby that was saved along with the cards.
