The hypnagogic and hypnopompic goblins are monsters that appear to people who experience sleep paralysis, and do not completely exit REM sleep. This experience can last from several seconds to several minutes. These works explore the sensation of sleep paralysis, which results in vivid hallucinations, fear and a complete inability to move one's body.
