Artist Statement - Pui Lee This particular body of work consists of seemingly naïve yet haunting prints, which derive from autobiographical motivations and form a narrative based on the experiences of the little girl in the image. The work draws the viewer into an uncertain world where truth and imagination come into conflict whilst simultaneously referencing the theatrical and in some cases, almost clichéd romantic ideals… Perhaps the little girl is simply waiting. -Waiting for her “happily ever after”... Based at West Wall Studios in Carlisle, Pui Lee is an interdisciplinary artist specialising in film, 2D + printmaking, sculpture and installation.
