These four pieces represent three generations of the Richards-Avidors. The two elder Richards were professional commercial artists. "Eskimo Pie" is a final "comp" done to show the client how the billboard design would look. The lettering is all hand-done. "Fashion Figure" was done in the waning days of fashion illustration. It was one of the last fashion illustrations for a trade magazine that catered to the fashion industry on Seventh Avenue. "S-Mart" is part of Roberta Avidor's Urban Sketching project, which artistically records the Twin Cities environment around us. The concise portrayal was inspired by the color sense and drawing ability of the Richards (Roberta's aunt and uncle). "The Seventies" is Celia Avidor's interpretation of her favorite decade, which she experienced second hand because she was born a decade after.
