“From the safe haven of the grave, life looks frightening” -author unknown I have enjoyed things macabre, disturbing and surreal since early childhood. I watched Universal Studios horror movies again and again,,, always hoping that Dracula wouldn’t get staked through the heart, that Frankenstein’s Monster wouldn’t be burnt “alive”, that Lawrence Talbot (the werewolf) wouldn’t get shot with a silver bullet. Alas; I had to wait 20 years for Tim Burton to come on the scene and allow us to see things from the monster’s point of view. In my work also, the monster is the hero, and the world in which they inhabit is like a playground in a cemetery. - Cris t Halverson Oct ‘08
