I discovered painting way too late in life, but what a wonderful discovery it was when I finally found it. Painting takes me to places that I never knew existed. It's rather like dreaming. I have little control over the images that I find myself drawn to and am compelled to paint. Nature, history and color wrap around me finding their way to my canvas in ways that constantly surprise me. As for bicycles? Well, bicycles remind me of my childhood. A bicycle was never a bicycle. It was a horse, a race car, a glider, a witch's broom, a magic carpet... I rapidly pedaled my way out of reality and into the rich creations of my young mind. Bikes, puppies and tide pools, they all worked for me. Now, so many years later, I've found painting. What a glorious world it is. Hallelujah.
