My drawings are created by building multiple layers to the picture plane to create a dreamlike state of mind. For these, I incorprated a tricycle as a symbol of childhood and youth. However, this minerature bike is unexpectantly dissected into two seperate abstracted worlds. The body of the tricycle is grounded in a dense blue thickened by layers of ovals and childlike doodles, whereas the handl bar, or means of direction, is waiting in stillness. The separation represents challenges of aduthood. Both have potential, but cannot arrive to a destination without each other.
