| Interests in sociology,
experimentation, rites of passage, ritual, and alchemy have informed
this visual/audio investigation. Hybridized societies and cityscapes
in Europe and America have inspired me to combine materials in
an eclectic, conglomerate aesthetic. Mobile sculpture vehicle
laboratories have been collaboratively activated through specific
public spaces that contain architectural archways and a source
of water with my Slovenian wife, Petra. Each kinetic vehicle is
created to enact a bizarre activity. Naturalization Vehicle projects
a sliver of absurdity, humor, mystery, and romanticism and presents
viewers with questions and wonderment, while investigating the
transformations of potential and kinetic energies. The jazz-esque
sounds are created with a percussion-like approach to objects.
This reconsideration of artist/object interface is a spectacle
that is intended to be celebratory, transformative, experimental,
and performative. |
