East Side Story Erin Hael video nfs (actors: Jamie Barber, Julie Jacob, Mark McClure)

I began working in the video medium last year and now consider it one of my main focuses. My influences for this piece stem from Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali's Un Chein Andalou, as well as Vittorio De Sica's Ladri di Biciclette. Many of the ideologies present in these works affected my thinking as I moved forward on this project. My main intention is to portray a fairly traditional narrative in an abusrdist form while attempting to depart from the everyday. I am currently working on interactive installation pieces that incorporate my video works as well as the user in a real time setting.
