I'm a native texan, and began my
art career at fourteen years old. My aunt, who's a hairdresser,
had the idea of selling my small flower paintings to her clients.
After a detour in the military, I decided to pursue art again.
My main inspiration comes from the work of two sources: the
early Dutch masters and the photo realists of the 1960's. The
working style I've reached in painting is toward the photo realistic.
I'm easily inspired by subjects that not only bring back memories
of my childhood, but those scenes which allow a viewer to "get
lost" for a moment in the unfamiliar and perhaps mysterious
details of the painting. My inspiration for sculpted works primarily
comes from everyday objects that people see, but simply take
for granted. |
